Cooperation of NIS and three faculties of Belgrade University

Thus, NIS continues its cooperation with high education institutions in Serbia with a view to link science and business. The signing ceremony was attended by Andrei Shibanov, NIS Organisational Affairs Director, Snezana Lakicevic, NIS Liaison Officer for Education, Branko Bozic, Civil Engineering Department Dean, Radivoje Mitrovic, Mechanical Engineering Department Dean and Ivan Grzetic, Chemistry Department Dean. The event was also graced by Prof. Dr. Zivoslav Tesic, Belgrade University Deputy Chancelor in charge of Science, Innovationa and Technology Transfer. „This cooperations seeks to strengthen the liaison between business and educational institutions. NIS is one of Serbia’s major companies, and Belgrade University is the most significant education institution. This is why it is our common objective to improve the quality of education of both students and our staffers, as this cooperation agreement stipulates for the Belgrade University professors to train our employees as well“, stated Andrei Shibanov, NIS Organisational Affairs Director. „I hope that today’s cooperation agreement signing by such a thriving business as NIS and the representatives of Belgrade University will make a solid foundation to connect science and business“, said Branko Bozic, Civil Engineering Department Dean. „The Mechanical Engineering Department has always kept cooperation with the business in high regard. The agreement with NIS has given to us a new impetus and I am sure that we will use the chance as bes t we can. I expect that our common projects will yield brilliant results not only in science, but will also augment NIS market competivity.“, stressed Radivoje Mitrovic, Mechanical Engineering Department Dean. „I hope that our concerted efforts will bring great results. We will not only bask in the benefits coming from the cooperations with NIS, we will, in turn, provide professional advice that would facilitate better positioning of this company in the marekt“, said Ivan Grzetic, Chemistry Department Dean. NIS cooperates with university as part of its “Power of Knowledge” programme stipulating joint projects with the Universities of Belgrade and Novi Sad as well as a great number of primary and secondary schools.
