Power of Knowledge” showcased at “HR Serbia 2015

November 2, 2015

This conference entitled “Human Resources in Digital Era”, hosted several panel discussions: “HR in Serbia”, “HR in IT companies”, “HR in Digital Era”, as well as “Best HR practices – Talent Management Challenges”, with NIS representatives in attendance. Snežana Lakićević has presented NIS achievements in cooperating with Serbia’s education institutions, being conducted within the “Power of Knowledge” programme. “NIS is a large company, seeking predominantly engineering professionals; however, there is no abundance in students keen on going in for mathematics, physics or chemistry. That is why we lent support to The Association of Mathematicians, Physics and Chemistry Specialists, our strategic partners being: Mining, Geological, Mathematical Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry Departments of the University, as well as the Technical Sciences Department. We also started offering scholarships to those students, who dedicate their graduation paper to topics of interest for NIS. We have been instrumental in establishing a new department of studies at the Zrenjanin Technical Sciences University, called “Industrial Engineering and Oil and Gas Production”, in a pooled effort with Russia’s University in the town of Ukhta. As a consequence, all of scholarship holders will be employed after the graduation. We have also provided scholarships for 25 students, who attend Russia’s universities. We are involved in this programme with a view to bridge the gap between our business demands and the market offer. We are required to start early recruitment in order to compel young people to enrol in studies that would provide employment for them”, Snežana Lakićević pointed out. The conference was opened by Serbia’s Deputy PM Zorana Mihajlović, with participants from Serbia’s other large companies representatives, like Coca-Cola Hellenic, Philip Morris, Ernst & Young, as well as state-run enterprises and diplomatic representations posted in Serbia.
