Scholarship Awardees Visit NIS

July 14, 2015

NIS has awarded as many as 25 scholarships for studying at the prestigious oil and gas faculties of the “Gubkin” University in Moscow and “Gorny” University in St. Petersburg. The scholarships cover tuition fees for all academic years, accommodation and travel expenses, health insurance and monthly allowance; students, on the other hand, are required to study hard and pass exams regularly and with good performance. After the studies, they all have jobs at NIS waiting for them. The students from Russia were accompanied by Milan Krstajić, one of the world’s top young physicists and another awardee of NIS scholarship studying at Trinity College in Cambridge. Mr Andrey Shibanov, Director of Organisational Affairs of NIS, greeted the awardees with the words: “Your hard work and success have been recognised, allowing you a possibility to study at the best universities in the world and to work with one of the largest energy companies in Southeast Europe. Your first-class education is only the initial step in your career development and the jobs waiting for you in NIS will help you develop into professionals. Working with our company will be your first professional challenge and an opportunity to put what you have learned into practice; we have been your support in this so far and will remain so in future,” says Mr Shibanov. Scholarships are provided as part of NIS’ Energy of Knowledge Programme covering cooperation with science and educational institutions. As many as 82 students have taken part in the NIS scholarship programme.
