Last year, a student of Valjevo High School David Koprivica ranked highly at the Serbian Chemistry Olympiad, organized with NIS support, thus ensuring his school this donation. In addition to the second place he won at the national-level competition, David also won bronze medals for his country at the International Chemistry Olympiads in Moscow in 2013 and in Vietnam in 2014. Valjevo High School is one of the oldest educational institutions in Serbia, founded as early as 1870. The school has received Vuk Karadžić Award for its exceptional contribution in Serbian and pan-Serbian cultural space, as well as the Order of St. Sava of the Second Degree for its longstanding prolific educational work. The ceremony of the classroom opening was attended by the NIS Manager for Cooperation with Universities Snežana Lakićević, Valjevo High School director Vojislav Antić and a number of its professors and students. In the last two years, within its program "Energy of Knowledge", NIS adapted as many as 25 classrooms and four laboratories in schools and universities across Serbia. Furthermore, the program "Energy of Knowledge" includes awarding of scholarships, organisation of knowledge olympiads, summer schools and camps, and provision of support for Petrica Science Centre. NIS implements its social responsibility programs under the slogan "Future at Work".
