Ceremonial Concerts of Russian Children Philharmonic in Niš, Novi Sad and Belgrade

  The choir will perform on the stage of the National Theatre in Niš on Friday, 18 October, at 6 PM, on the stage of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad on Sunday, 20 October at 7 PM, and on the stage of the Russian House in Belgrade on Wednesday, 23 October, at 7 PM. The performance of one of the world’s most famous choirs of this type was made possible by NIS. Tickets for the concert are free and available at ticket offices of theatres in Niš and Novi Sad, and in the Russian House in Belgrade, from Tuesday, 15 October. Russian choir Chapel of Boys and Young Men of the Sverdlovsk State Children Philharmonic from Yekaterinburg was founded in 1979 by the famous chorus master Larissa Balter, and this year the choir, famous in both Russia and far beyond its borders, celebrated its 40th anniversary. Meanwhile the ensemble has built a world-renowned reputation and is known for being one of the finest vocal ensembles of boys and young men. Following a special invitation from the Russian House, the choir first visited Serbia in 2016. Russian choir Chapel of Boys and Young Men of the Sverdlovsk State Children Philharmonic from Yekaterinburg has guest performances and festivals in Germany, Japan, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Greece, Chile, Russia, Ukraine in its history. They travelled around the world, reaching as far as Chile, and performed with the most famous orchestras and conductors, on the most prestigious stages. Singers in the choir are both boys and young men, which makes the choir sound incredibly beautiful and unique. Chapel’s repertoire includes many pieces suitable for such a composition of voices. The children of the 21st century also sing the music of Bach and Rachmaninoff, Sviridov and Prokofiev, Pakhmutova and Glinka, Russian folk songs and spiritual music, works by contemporary composers. This team of young musicians is led by artistic director Friedrich Weisheim.
