Kikinda gathered future basketball champions

The last weekend, on June 2 and 3, 2018, Kikinda hosted the 15th Ranko Žeravica International Mini Basketball Festival.

The festival that has been carrying the name of an honorary citizen of Kikinda and legendary basketball coach for the last three years was organised by the Basketball Federation of Serbia and Mini Basket Association at the Jezero Sports Hall in Kikinda.

The boys and girls born in 2007 and later had the right to take part in the mini basketball festival. The festival gathered 25 teams and more than 30 matches were played.

As a part of the programme, a new game titled Košarkica was presented, while Tricky, a guy from Serbia who became YouTube sensation in the field of freestyle basketball cheered the future champions. On this occasion, he showed the young basketball hopes the ball tricks and moves that made him famous. The seminar for coaches titled “From Mini Basketball to Basketball” was also organised during the festival.

As this manifestation was not aimed at gaining a victory or winning a medal, but a children’s smile, promoting friendship and lifestyle that the sport requires, and that is fair play, all participants received medals and certificates of appreciation and all teams were presented with the trophy.
