NIS and the Faculty of Economics in Subotica have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

The representatives of NIS company and the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation today in the area of education, research and knowledge transfer, by which the successful cooperation between NIS and this faculty continues.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Vadim Smirnov, Deputy General Manager and Head of Function for External, State Bodies and Public Relations of NIS Company and Aleksandar Grubor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.

The Memorandum of Cooperation foresees the implementation of joint scientific and research projects, realization of training courses, professional counseling and consultations, exchange of knowledge and experiences. Cooperation also envisages organizing mutual guest lectures of NIS experts and faculty professors, assisting students in research and graduate thesis, professional practice in our company, as well as involving students in company’s programs dedicated to young people.

At the one hand, the continuation of cooperation between NIS and the Faculty of Economics in Subotica points to the fact that the company appreciates the high level of expertise and knowledge provided by the Faculty of Economics to its students, and on the other, that young people see NIS as an advantageous employer. The fact that almost 270 graduates of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica are already working at NIS supports this cooperation, while the fact that many of them have been in NIS for more than 10 years, with a large number at senior or managerial positions, confirms it back up.

“Naftna Industrija Srbije is a jewel in our network of business partners in Serbia. What we just agreed on is that the faculty participates in advancing the intellectual capital of this company; it participates in economic research for its needs, provides professional assistance, seminars, education and courses for employees. On the other hand, NIS experts will hold lectures at the faculty, the company will enable our students to realize a part of the practice and will provide us with support in the knowledge transfer. We are currently in the process of accreditation of new study programs and it is certain that these programs should be aligned with the needs of the labor market. Since Universities have become active participants in the labor market, the suggestions and expectations of the Naftna Industrija Srbije will greatly ease the work on their accreditation”, said Aleksandar Grubor, Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica.

“The Faculty of Economics in Subotica is known throughout the country for the quality of its personnel, and NIS recognizes this. We pay full attention to the development of young talents and students in Serbia, and in this we see a multifaceted meaning. On the one hand, young people can accomplish their plans for further development, and on the other hand, we are trying to keep them in the country. We provide the best students with the opportunity to gain work experience in NIS and this is not only our duty as a socially responsible company, but also a great deal of satisfaction. NIS realized the importance of quality staff preparation for our industry and our project ‘Energy of Knowledge’ has become a big brand in Serbia, which enabled a large number of people to realize their plans for education not only in Serbia, but also overseas. The focus of NIS is students, science and youth development, and in that we see the future of our company”, said Vadim Smirnov, Deputy General Manager and Head of the Function for External, State Bodies and Public Relations of the NIS Company.

NIS has been developing partnership with educational and scientific institutions for six years through its corporate program ‘Energy of Knowledge’, which aims to contribute to the development of science and education, affirmation and improvement of the conditions for education and training of young and talented pupils, students and scientists all over the country, as well as adapting study programs to market needs.

NIS has signed more than 45 agreements with domestic and international scientific and educational institutions in the country and abroad as part of its corporate ‘Energy of Knowledge’ program. NIS is the first company to receive the prestigious ‘Svetosavska nagrada’ prize for its contribution to the development of education in Serbia, which is awarded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
