The money raised for the Centre for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youngsters will be used to purchase video surveillance equipment to be installed in all seven facilities of the institution in Belgrade, as well as to purchase furniture, carpeting and warm floor mats for the children’s rooms and mothers’ home. NIS has a long tradition of making donations to various children protection institutions started by the Company’s employees to help and improve the operation of the institutions of vital interest to the society.

“We always want children to learn something good from us, adults, but I think that we can also learn something from them: not to forget that we get stronger and better when we join hands. Fortunately, NIS’s large family still knows that. This donation is not something that the management decided or instructed, it is something that many NIS’s employees did from their hearts and through their contributions, together with us who run the Company. And I want you to know that we will not forget that we need each other: we need to be there when help is required, you need to remind us that when we are with you, we are both better and happier,” said NIS CEO Kirill Tyurdenev at the donation ceremony.

The donation funds of around a million and one hundred thousand dinars were jointly raised by NIS employees and the company matched the funds donated by the employees.

Aleksandar Antić, Minister of Mining and Energy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, wished a happy Universal Children’s Day to the Centre’s residents and thanked the employees and management of NIS for their fundraiser for the institution.

Zoran Milačić, General Manager of the Centre for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youngsters, recalled that NIS and this institution had traditionally been cooperating for years and thanked the Company employees for their initiative.
