“Nova ekonomija” magazine published a text about success of young Serbian pupils at the international Knowledge Olympiads in physics, mathematics and chemistry, supported by the company NIS. According to text, pupils who presented Serbia at international competitions were chosen at domestic Knowledge Olympiads that were organized with support of the company NIS. The company has been investing in development of education and science in Serbia for five years, via its “Energy of knowledge” program, and it offers support to young talents who take part in the international competitions. The fact that NIS became the first company that won prestigious “Saint Sava’s Award” in 2016 for its contribution to education in Serbia goes in favour of the above mentioned.
Media report that Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has decorated Alexander Dybal, Member of the Board of Directors at Gazprom Neft and Deputy CEO of this company for corporate communications with golden medal, for outstanding merits in connection and strengthening of cultural and economic relations of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia.
Serbian edition of Financial Times has published a text on the topic of business in accordance with sustainable development, in which is presented that the company has been standing out in the past couple of years in field of sustainable development and public reporting. According to text, the company NIS presented 2015 Sustainable Development Report and it has been nurturing that practice ever since 2010. At the presentation of report for 2015, it is said that NIS based its sustainable development strategy on four pillars, those being economic indicators, human resources, responsibility towards community and environmental protection. A statement by NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko is published, as he has said that sustainable development represents company’s strategic dedication.
NIN magazine published a text on the topic of internship that students of Zrenjanin based Technical Faculty Mihajlo Pupin attended at Ukhta State Technical University in Russia, with the support of the company NIS. It is about the eleven students of the first generation of newly accredited Department of Industrial Engineering in Oil and Gas Exploitation at Zrenjanin based Technical Faculty, which foundation was initiated by the company NIS two years ago. As stated in the text among other things, the contract on business-technical cooperation of the company NIS Gazprom Neft with Zrenjanin based Technical Faculty, which belongs to University of Novi Sad, was signed in July 2013 and contract with Ukhta State Technical University was signed in March of the following year.
Alexander Dybal, member of the Board of Directors at Gazprom Neft gave an interview to the Vecernje novosti daily, on the topic of Gazprom Neft’s donation to the Church of Saint Sava. Dybal emphasizes that the amount of EUR4 million, which this company set aside for completion of works in the Church, will be intended for technical works on mosaic of the cupola, spreading across 1.230 square metres. As he further claims, they intend to leave the supervision of quality and compatibility of executed works with the artistic solution elected to its subsidiary NIS, which will gather qualified experts in the field of decorative mosaic. NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko will manage an entire process. As Dybal said in his interview with the Novosti daily, Serbs and Russians have strong spiritual connections that have been lasting for centuries, thus he hopes that the Church of Saint Sava will become the biggest monument of Serbian-Russian friendship.
Media report that the company NIS and the Tennis Federation of Serbia have organized a three-day NIS Open School of Tennis, during a Davis Cup clash between Serbia and Kazakhstan, which goal is to support children and professional sport, as well as promotion of healthy lifestyle and proper development of young people. Children had the opportunity to learn tennis fundamentals with the help of professional coaches. NIS has organized this campaign in accordance with its “Future at work” slogan.
The “Blic” daily newspaper has published the list of 50 most powerful foreigners in Serbia this year as well. Director-General of the company NIS, Kirill Kravchenko is at the top of the list of 50 most powerful foreigners. As it is further stated in the text, Kravchenko has been at the position of Director- General of the company NIS since 2009. Under his management, and through cooperation between strategic partners, namely Gazprom Neft and Serbian government, NIS has been transformed of national petroleum-gas company into a successful regional energy holding. Despite sudden decrease in oil prices on the global market in the past year and a half, NIS has remained a successful company thanks to a quality management. It is emphasized that business profitability has been preserved and NIS has remained the biggest budgetary contributor in the country, generating 15% of Serbian budget.
Magazine of Gazprom Export “Blue Fuel” published the text wher it is said that company NIS whose majority shareholder is Gazprom Neft, commissioned the first plant for the compression of natural gas aimed at industrial consumers in 2014. In August 2015, the company opened its first retail unit offering compressed natural gas (CNG) as a fuel for consumer vehicles and light trucks.
Newspaper Kurir- publication “Financial Times” has published a text about recently held panel discussion “Influence of energy and climate policy of the EU on oil economy in Southeast Europe” in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, organized by the National Oil Committee and supported by NIS. Participants of the panel discussion were representatives of the European Community, International Energy Agency, Serbian government and the biggest petroleum companies that conduct business operations in countries of Southeast Europe.
The magazine “Nedeljnik” published an article about success of young mathematicians and chemists from Serbia, that won eight Olympic medals in international competitions in Thailand and in Azerbaijan with the support of company NIS. Cooperation with universities and scientific institutions is only one part of CSR NIS, which is taking place under the slogan “The Future at Work”. NIS also invests in the development of education and science and provides support to young talents through a corporate program, “The Power of Knowledge”, ii is said in the text.
The Politika daily newspaper has published an interview with NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko, who has talked about construction of a new cogeneration power plant in Pancevo, in which around EUR140 million will be invested, and about NIS becoming an energy holding.
Company NIS has opened new GAZPROM petrol station “Zarkovo 1” in Trgovacka Street in the municipality of Cukarica. Zarkovo 1 petrol station was opened by NIS Director of Sales and Distribution Blok Alexey Chernikov who underlined that the petrol station has been built in accordance with the most demanding eco-friendly regulations and equipped with modern equipment and two-sided multiplex fuel-pouring devices. At this petrol station, consumers will have an opportunity to buy high-quality fuel and the offer includes a wide range of additional products. The petrol station also includes a restaurant and a car wash. It is open 24 hours a day.
Weekly magazine Pecat published news that, within Saint Petersburg’s International Economic Forum, an agreement had been signed between OAD Tsentrenergoholding (belongs to the Gazprom Energoholding Group) and NIS a.d. Novi Sad (Gazprom Neft Group) on establishment of the company Serbskaya Generaciya LLC Novi Sad. The agreement was signed between Director-General of Gazprom Energoholding d.o.o. and OAD Tsentrenergoholding Denis Fyodorov and Director-General of NIS a.d. Kirill Kravchenko, in presence of Chairman of the Executive Board at OAD Gazprom Alexey Miller.
Kurir’s publication Fibnancial Times published the news that NIS has continued the modernization of Pancevo Oil Refinery and realized four investments in the value exceeding EUR9 million since the beginning of the year. With the completion of the 3rd stage of modernization of filling stations, an investment worth almost 2 million euros, the best eco-friendly method for shipment of derivatives in car cisterns has been installed.
The weekly magazine NIN published text by Nadezda Kokotovic, head of cabinet of CEO of NIS and NIS representative in Brussels, who spoke about the recently held panel in Brussels called “Serbia and the EU – challenges and advantages over us,” organized by the NIS, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Belgium and the Secretariat of the Energy Charter.
In the supplement edition of the Blic daily called „Cars“ it is published the article about the new NIS Ultra D premium euro diesel, produced in the Pancevo Oil Refinery. As stated in the article, this fuel removes the existing fuel and prevents the deposition of new impurities in the fuel injection system and increases engine power and longevity of the car. Ultra D can be purchased at 230 stations across Serbia.
NIS and Serbian Tennis Association have organized a two-hour Open Tennis School within a Fed Cup match between Serbia and Paraguay in Novi Sad, during which lots of children were allowed to get acquainted with basics of this sport while tennis experts provided support. This initiative is being realized within NIS’s corporate program “Energy of sports, which goal is to support children and professional sport, development of young people, as well as promotion of healthy lifestyle.
Weekly magazine Pečat recalls that an agreement on cooperation between NIS and the Russian Centre of Science and Culture has been officially signed, through which exchange of knowledge and experience in the areas of common interest, primarily working together to popularize the Russian language and culture in Serbia will be implemented. The agreement was signed by Deputy Director General of NIS Andrei Shibanov and director of the Russian Cultural Centre Nadezhda Kusenkova.
NIS and Road Traffic Safety Agency have signed a Protocol on cooperation, which goal is to raise the level of traffic safety to a higher level. The signed Protocol provides for the participation of NIS in the future activities and campaigns of the Agency, as well as the training and development of NIS employees, drivers in the first place, but also all other employees.

NIS and the City of Belgrade have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation, in which NIS will allocate RSD20 million for projects in the field of sports, culture, environmental protection, science and aid to the socially vulnerable categories in Belgrade. The agreement was signed by the Mayor of Belgrade, Sinisa Mali, and CEO of NIS, Kirill Kravchenko, who said on that occasion that NIS has had strategic cooperation with the City of Belgrade, and that and that company strives to improve cooperation with young talents because they are the future of Serbia and Belgrade. Mayor Sinisa Mali thanked NIS for recognizing the importance of such project and noted that through this program a systemic solution was made for the City and NIS to work together to improve the quality of life in Belgrade.
NIS and ten municipalities and towns in Serbia have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Novi Sad, related to continuation of investments in development of local communities through “Together for the community” programme, it being realized for the seventh consecutive year. Representatives of Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Pancevo, Nis, Kikinda, Kanjiza, Novi Becej, Zitiste, Srbobran and Cacak yesterday signed a contract with NIS. Company NIS will secure more than RSD90 million for funding of these projects in this year. Public competition for projects’ applications for “Together for the community” programme in 2015 last from February 5 to 26 and all citizens’ associations and other institutions in these 10 local communities, as well as City of Belgrade, which joined the programme last year, will be able to apply with projects related to sports, culture, environmental protection, science and help to socially endangered groups.
In Zrenjanin NIS opened a training center for workers, the first of its kind in Serbia, which will train future workers on drilling and workover units of the company. NIS, in cooperation with the City of Zrenjanin and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has enabled the organization of training courses which, in addition to employees, can also be attended by those enrolled in specialized educational institutions of the municipality, who will thus get professional training to work in the oil industry.
