The festival with many decades behind it has been successfully organised since 1982 in Yekaterinburg, a city in the heart of Ural, and has gathered over 20,000 gifted participants from 40 countries so far. In addition to being a competition, the festival features educational and cultural elements, promotes intercultural exchange and preservation of national cultures, strengthens ties between young people all over the world, creates conditions for informal communication between talented individuals and professionals in the field of art and music, as well as the possibility of implementing joint art projects, thus promoting the development of youth music activism.

The Serbian team, led by its coordinator, Marija Jelić, won two prizes in the category of instrumental music: flute player Mila Dobrosavljević, sophomore at the Faculty of Music Art, won the third place, while Marija Radovanović, a second-year student at the Vatroslav Lisinski Secondary School of Music, was a second-degree winner. Talented 12-year-old guitar player Sergej Misić, student of the Vladimir Đorđević School of Music, also had a notable performance and managed to charm members of the jury. The young ambassadors of music presented their country with dignity and demonstrated their musical talent and potential to the Russian audience at the magnificent building of the State Children’s Philharmonic Society.

NIS, in accordance with its slogan “Future at Work”, supported the Serbian team’s participation in the festival

Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the Serbian team won as many as two prizes in its category at a festival featuring over 300 participants from 17 countries across the globe.

-I especially appreciate the generous hospitality shown by the Director of “Sales and Distribution”, Alexey Chernikov, who was a kind of a host of ours in Yekaterinburg. He gave us full support, encouraged us during the performance and was vital to our self-confidence and the success that we achieved – Marija Jelić underlined.

In addition, she particularly thanked the festival organisers, Sverdlovsk State Children’s Philharmonic Society, for the arrangements they made, their hospitality and cordiality, as well as the opportunity offered to young artists from Serbia to get to know the rich cultural and artistic heritage of the Ural Region. Also deserving of gratitude is the Ural-Siberian Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, which sent the invitation, and NIS, which supported the Serbian team’s participation in the festival, in accordance with its slogan “Future at Work”.
