“The great effort going into IPPC certificate award did not stem solely from our legal obligation; we were primarily driven by our willingness to bring our activity in compliance with demanding local and European standards. And yet now is not the time to rest, we stay strong in our pursuit of improving production processes, protecting the environment and boosting energy efficiency. It is another confirmation that we deem our commercial or production achievements to be a success only if they are underpinned by a considerable effect for the environment”, remarked NIS CEO Kirill Tyurdenev on the occasion.

NIS has invested over 800 mio RSD in environmental projects

IPPC (integrated pollution prevention and control) is a comprehensive notion that encompasses all measures and procedures to prevent (if feasible) and minimize the negative impact of industrial facilities on environment and achieve a high level of environmental protection overall. IPPC certificate is a written decision issued by a competent authority permitting the operation of facilities and companies in line with applicable legislation on conditions inclusive of all known types of environmental impact that the competent authority considers essential.
