Its basic business activities include exploration, production and processing of crude oil and gas, supply of a wide portfolio of petroleum products, as well as the realization of energy projects. NIS has two refineries, in Pančevo and in Novi Sad, as well as a petrol stations network in Serbia and abroad. In line with its strategy to become a leader in the region, NIS has expanded its operation into the regional market: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. In addition to the renewed and modernized NIS Petrol mass consumption brand, NIS is also expanding its Gazprom premium brand.
A representative office was opened in Brussels in order to provide support to Serbia’s European integration. Furthermore, the company has its registered offices in Russia, Turkmenistan, Angola, Bulgaria, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
Today, NIS is one of the most successful companies and the major contributor to the budget in Serbia.
Russian company Gazprom Neft owns 56.15 % of the share capital in NIS, while 29.87 % of NIS shares is in the ownership of the Republic of Serbia. The remaining portion belongs to citizens, employees, former employees and other minor shareholders. NIS shares are listed on theat Belgrade Stock Exchange.
