This year, NIS invests 114.5 million dinars in community

Within the “Common Cause - Community 2018” the NIS Company has lent support to a total of 26 projects aimed at significant improvement of living standards of Serbia’s 12 towns and municipalities dwellers.

This year, the company identified a fund of 114.5 million dinars for the implementation of projects of capital importance for the development of communities. This year, NIS has supported projects aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens of local communities. The selected projects are in the fields of education, sport, culture, ecology, public health and social protection.

The decision on the priority areas was defined by representatives of local municipalities, who invited institutions and associations from their cities or municipalities, dealing with these areas, to deliver projects of a long-term importance for the development of their community. The final decision on the projects that were supported was made by a commission composed of representatives of NIS and 12 local communities.

Common Cause – Community program is one of the most important NIS projects that has been successfully implemented for 10 years in cooperation with local communities in Serbia. During this period, over 900 projects worth more than one billion dinars were realized, which significantly improved the life of citizens in the communities in which the company operates – Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Cacak, Pancevo, Kikinda, Zrenjanin, Kanjiža, Srbobran, Zitiste and Novi Bečej. Since this year the program has joined the city of Požarevac, which has continued to expand the circle of partner communities in Serbia.
