Fuel Oil

Fuel oils are used as energy-generating fuels in industry and for power units in systems for which the generator manufacturer specifies use of this fuel type.

NIS produces the following types of fuel oil:
– Low-sulphur fuel, in particular NSG-S
– Medium fuel oil S
– Extra light fuel oil EURO EL

Low-sulphur fuel oil (NSG-S) is a blended residual and distillate fuel which must be preheated during transport, storage, and use, and it is intended for use in metallurgy and for all industrial plants where a low sulphur content is required, as well as for power generators. It is obtained via a blending procedure whereby vacuum residues, visbreaking residues, atmospheric residues, decanted oil and diesel components are blended together. It must be stored in properly constructed and equipped tanks. Storage together with other chemicals is to be avoided, especially those that are flammable. Tools which can produce a spark are not to be used around this fuel.

Medium fuel oil (S) is used in industry, agriculture, and for power units in systems for which the generator manufacturer specifies use of this fuel type. Preheating is needed for transport, storage, and use of this fuel. It is obtained via a blending procedure whereby vacuum residues, visbreaking residues, atmospheric residues, decanted oil and diesel components are blended together. Storage together with other chemicals is to be avoided; especially those that are flammable or can cause fires (oxidants, acids, etc.). Tools and equipment that can produce a spark are not to be used where this fuel is stored. Medium fuel oil (S) must be kept away from open flames, hot surfaces and ignition sources.

Preheating of fuel oil is required for the purposes of transporting, storing, and using of the above types of fuel oil.

Extra light fuel oil (EURO EL)is a distillate fuel intended for industrial and professional use, as well as for power generators. It is intended for vaporization burners, as well as for all pressure burners without a fuel pre-heat option. The EURO EL extra light fuel oil is a distillate energy-generating fuel that is dyed with an orange-coloured stability indicator. The EURO EL extra light gas oil is obtained from a blend of diesel components. In the finalization procedure, the orange colorant is added along with, if needed, additives for improving low-temperature characteristics. Storage together with other chemicals is to be avoided; especially those that are flammable or can cause fires (oxidants, acids, etc.). Tools and equipment that can produce a spark are not to be used where this fuel is stored. Extra light fuel oil (EURO EL) must be kept away from open flames, hot surfaces and ignition sources.
