Classrooms and Laboratories Within the ‘Energy of Knowledge’ programme, NIS renovates and equips classrooms, cabinets and laboratories in faculties and schools around Serbia in order to improve work conditions and practical skills, promote natural and technical sciences and conducting of educational and scientific and research activities. Funds are provided for renovation or complete adaptation, and equipping of cabinets with laboratory or IT equipment. Up to date, NIS has equipped over 50 classrooms and laboratories in Serbia within the ‘Energy of Knowledge’ programme. At the Faculty of Mining and Geology, NIS computer classroom for distance learning was equipped while equipment ROCKEVAL 6 for the implementation of the newly accredited master studies module ‘Oil and Gas Geology’ was provided. A computer classroom for curricular activities and a laboratory for oil and chemistry engineering were equipped at the Faculty of Technology of University of Novi Sad. NIS computer classroom for distance learning, together with physics and chemistry laboratories were equipped at the Technical Faculty Mihajlo Pupin in Zrenjanin. PPE for students and teacher of the faculty was also provided. IT classroom was equipped at the Faculty of Education in Sombor of University of Novi Sad with the aim to create better work and study environment for students and teachers for bilingual departments of three schools in Serbia. In 2016, NIS donated financial resources to the Faculty of Political Sciences of University of Belgrade for procurement of IT equipment for Russian Studies Centre. Also in 2016, Oil Classroom was opened in the Technical School in Zrenjanin. During 2018, financial resources were donated for equipping classrooms in secondary vocational schools in Pančevo: the Technical School ‘23. maj’, the Mechanical Engineering School ‘Pančevo’ and the Electrical Engineering School ‘Nikola Tesla’. Besides the activity of equipping classrooms and laboratories on partner faculties and in vocational schools, NIS has donated, up to date, within the activities in the area of Russian language promotion, funds for equipping and renovation of over 10 classrooms and cabinets for Russian language in schools around Serbia, and the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade.
