Cooperation With Educational Institutions Through its corporate program Energy of Knowledge, for the seventh year, NIS cooperates with educational and scientific institutions, gives scholarships to young talents and best students, and invests in educational infrastructure. NIS cooperates with 2 universities in Serbia, 8 universities in the region and the Russian Federation, as well as over 30 faculties and 3 professional scientific societies. In December 2017, in order to continue previous successful cooperation, NIS signed a new Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. Key Partners Secondary vocational schools Technical High School, Zrenjanin NIS and Technical High School Zrenjanin signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in September 2013. In 2014, after 22 years’ hiatus, at the initiative of NIS, the department for three-year education has been started again for the profile Operator for Oil and Gas Production Plants for work in the oil industry. In the academic year of year 2014/2015, the first generation of this profile was enrolled. Internship opportunities were provided to students and organized at the newly opened Zrenjanin Training Centre, production facilities and drilling and workover plants at our company. In September 2016, ‘Oil Lab’ was opened at the Technical High School, which, with the support of NIS, was equipped with the necessary equipment and tools. Secondary vocational schools in Pančevo In 2017, NIS signed Memoranda of Cooperation with Technology High School ‘23 May’, Pančevo School of Mechanical Engineering and Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering School in Pančevo. In 2018, at the Technical High School ‘23 May’, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Institute for the Improvement of Education, a new educational profile Oil and Gas Processing Technician was accredited for the needs of the Pančevo Oil Refinery. In the academic year of 2018/2019, the first generation of 30 students of this profile was enrolled. Within the Memorandum of Cooperation, funds were donated for equipping a smart classroom and ecological laboratory, which was equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for testing the quality of water, air and soil. Through the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Pančevo School of Mechanical Engineering and the Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering School, the curricula were adjusted and supplemented and the new NIS labs were equipped with the aim of improving the conditions for work, adjusting the educational content and training personnel for the needs of the Pančevo Oil Refinery. Universities and faculties The company is cooperating with the University of Belgrade and the University of Novi Sad. Through its Energy of Knowledge program, NIS supported the accreditation of new study programs at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, and at the Technical Faculty Mihajlo Pupin in Zrenjanin. Faculty of Mining and Geology (University of Belgrade ) Since 2013/2014 the following study programs were accredited and modified: Basic academic studies: Oil and gas engineering study program Master academic studies: Geology of Oil and Gas module A computer lab was equipped at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, and field visits to NIS facilities for students of final years as well as summer internships for students are organized. Technical Faculty Mihajlo Pupin in Zrenjanin (University of Novi Sad) In the academic year of 2014/2015 ,a new study program was accredited: Industrial Engineering in the Exploitation of Oil and Gas The study program is realized in cooperation with Ukhta State Technical University, with the support of NIS. Within this cooperation, guest lectures and field visits to NIS facilities for students and professors, student and teaching staff exchange, and summer internships for students are organized. In cooperation with Ukhta State Technical University, 7 guest professors from this University are teaching at NIS’s study program. A computer lab was equipped at the faculty, and NIS has also provided appropriate PPE for students and professors. Faculty of Technology (University of Novi Sad) The Memorandum of Cooperation envisages continuous improvement of curricula and teaching activities of students at the Oil and Petrochemical Engineering department. At this faculty, a computer lab, as well as a modern laboratory for oil and petrochemical engineering, were equipped, intended for the improvement of practical exercises for Oil Processing Technology and Oil Products courses. In cooperation with the faculty, guest lectures of professors are organized in NIS, as well as lectures of NIS experts for Oil and Petrochemical Engineering students. Cooperation between the Faculty of Technology and the Faculty of Chemistry of N. I. Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod from Russia was established. Internship in NIS is organized for students of this faculty. In 2018, a guest lecture was given by professors from the Lobachevsky University at the Faculty of Technology, and a visit to NIS was organized. In January 2019, University of Novi Sad has signed the Memorandum of Cooperation with Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas from Moscow. In the forthcoming period, cooperation between the Faculty of Technology and the Gubkin University is planned for the improvement of curricula and joint scientific research projects. NIS is also successfully cooperating with universities in the Russian Federation. NIS scholarship holders are attending prestigious Russian oil and gas faculties and universities, such as the I. M. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and Saint-Petersburg Mining University, Ukhta State Technical University, Tyumen Industrial University and N. I. Lobachevsky National Research State University of Nizhni Novgorod. In January 2019, during the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Serbia, NIS signed Memoranda of Cooperation with I. M. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg Mining University, as well as new Memoranda of Cooperation with the University of Belgrade and the University of Novi Sad.
