Scholarships

Within the Energy of Knowledge corporate program, a scholarship program for the most successful students has been established, which aims to invest in training students as highly educated personnel for the Company’s needs.

Over 90 students participated in the scholarship program so far.

Scholarships for students in Serbia:

  • the best students on basic and master academic studies at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Mining and Geology (at Oil and Gas Engineering and Geology of Oil and Gas departments)
  • five gifted students of the final years of basic and master academic studies at the University of Novi Sad a year (through the Fund for providing scholarships and facilitating progress of talented students and young researchers and artists of the University of Novi Sad)
  • best three students of the Technical Faculty Mihajlo Pupin in Zrenjanin a year, from the Industrial Engineering in Exploitation of Oil and Gas department, accredited in 2014 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and Ukhta State Technical University
  • one student from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Economics
  • first three winners of the NIS Knowledge Olympiads in Mathematics, Physics and Russian

Scholarships for Serbian students in the Russian Federation (a total of 30 scholarship holders so far):

  • 13 students at the I. M. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscow
  • 12 students at the Saint-Petersburg Mining University
  • two students at the Tyumen Industrial University
  • best two graduate students of the Faculty of Mining and Geology at the University of Belgrade at master academic studies at Ukhta State Technical University
  • one student at the N. I. Lobachevsky National Research State University of Nizhni Novgorod

During the scholarship, scholarship holders have summer internships for one to three months after each finished academic year. Scholarship contracts stipulate the employment in NIS after graduation, for a period of as many years as scholarship duration.

NIS scholarships for studies abroad include the costs of education for all years of study, accommodation, transportation, medical insurance, as well as a monthly cash amount. Students, on the other hand, have the obligation to take their exams timely and with a good average grade, and to complete summer internship after each finished academic year during the scholarship.

In the academic year of 2017/2018, NIS had 41 active scholarship contracts with top students of targeted faculties of the Universities of Belgrade and Novi Sad, as well as prestigious oil and gas universities in Russia.

In 2018, 17 NIS scholarship holders – 9 scholarship holders from faculties in Serbia and 8 scholarship holders who were educated at faculties in the Russian Federation (Saint-Petersburg Mining University, I. M. Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas and Ukhta State Technical University) were employed.

In the academic year of 2018/2019, NIS concluded 12 new scholarship contracts – 3 in the Russian Federation and 9 in Serbia.
