Our Experts as Guest Speakers NIS organises lectures of experts-practitioners to students in target faculties to supplement the curriculum and introduce them to the company’s operations. Owing to these guest lectures, the company interacts with the student population and brings the processes they study at university closer to them. In addition, the lectures serve as a supplement and support to curricula, make students aware of the company’s operations and possibilities of applying theoretical knowledge in practice. Professors from partner faculties also give lectures to NIS employees. In the course of the “Energy of Knowledge” programme, NIS experts have given more than 50 guest lectures in faculties across Serbia: Faculty of Mining and Geology and Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy at Belgrade University, Faculty of Economics in Subotica,Faculty of Technology at Novi Sad University, Mihajlo Pupin Technical Faculty in Zrenjanin and Faculty of Organisational Science in Belgrade. During these very important activities, the General Manager of the Company takes part as well. In 2018, the General Director of NIS, Kirill Tyurdenev, gave lectures at the MGIMO University in Moscow, as well as at the prestigious Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge on the theme “Management and Leadership in the 4th Industrial Revolution – Challenges and Opportunities”. NIS has organised three seminars-workshops on human resources for students of Novi Sad, Belgrade and Niš Universities to make them aware of the skills and competencies considered essential by businesses and preparing them to respond to the challenges of the modern labour market. These events were part of the European Union’s programme Trans-European Mobility Programme for University Studies (TEMPUS), more specifically a project entitled Strengthening of Internationalisation Policies at Universities in Serbia (SIPUS), in which NIS cooperated with universities in the country and abroad as a business partner.
